We build with what remains when everything unnecessary has been removed. Concrete, lime, light — nothing else.

House Hein

01

House Hein

2023 · Jæren Coast, NO

A single concrete wall against the North Sea wind. Everything else is glass and silence.

02

Kalk Pavilion

2022 · Gotland, SE

Limestone quarried thirty metres from the site. The building was always here — we removed what hid it.

Tarn Chapel

2024 · Graubünden, CH

One room, one aperture, one hour of direct light per day. Enough.

Process — in the making

From quarry to room

The Quarry
01 — The Quarry ·

Stone read in the ground, taken only where the building asks.

Formwork
02 — Formwork ·

Timber moulds, planed by hand, that the concrete will remember.

The Pour
03 — The Pour ·

A single continuous pour. No seams, no second chances.

The Cure
04 — The Cure ·

Twenty-eight days of patience. The wall sets to stone.

Striking
05 — Striking ·

The formwork falls away. The wall meets the light for the first time.

The Room
06 — The Room ·

What remains: a space, a light, an hour of the day held still.

The catalogue.

The work — in passing 01 / 04
The Inner Room A chamber that holds its breath — concrete, shadow, and a single seam of daylight.
Poured Light Light, poured and left to set into the grain of the wall.
The Long Corridor A passage that forgets its own length between two distant apertures.
Quiet Mass Concrete taught to carry its weight without ever announcing it.

Principles / Read slowly

Restraint is not absence. It is the discipline of removing everything that does not carry weight, until what is left can stand for a century without apology — concrete that remembers the hand that poured it, light that arrives once a day and is enough.

Studio / Position

We do not decorate. We do not soften. A wall is a decision held for a hundred years — we make few decisions, slowly.
